This is spring on Lake Winnipeg, Canada. The ice had melted on the lake but there were still some piles of ice on the shore that had been pushed there by the waves. This was a very small cavity in the ice and I had to lie down and put the camera into the crevice and use the self-timer, then pull it out and check to see if the shot had worked out. I had to try many exposures to get the focus and composition correct.
This little waterfall had carved a channel out of the rock and I knew right away that it would make an excellent vertical panorama. This was at Watkins Glen in the north of New York State in the Finger Lakes region. This is a highly recommended gorge hike.
This is a close-up detail of one of the waterfalls at Letchworth State Park in northwestern New York State. It wasn't until I got home and was editing this shot that I realized that I wanted to make this into a vertical panorama.
