It was completely cloudy this morning so I was trying to get photos of the giant waves (they were larger than normal as there was a hurricane passing just to the east of Nova Scotia). I was pretty disappointed as sunset the day before was cloudy as well. Then the clouds parted suddenly and I had to run to get a shot of the lighthouse before the clouds would cover the sun again. I also had to shoot fast because hordes of tourists would soon arrive. It was nice having the site to myself for a while, and I would recommend a sunrise visit.
This was a forest that I found near Winnipeg, Canada that wasn't too crowded with trees or bushes. I'm always on the lookout for these types of forest, since the sparse nature of the trees allows the sun to shine through and create shadows.
This is a small waterfall that I passed on the hike through Stony Brook State Park in northwestern New York State. I thought these jagged and cracked rocks would make a nice foreground element. This was a really nice autumn hike.
