This is a giant tree in the arboretum (tree park) in Ottawa, Canada. I included the bench to give a three dimensional effect to let the viewer imagine sitting here enjoying the sunrise.
This is Skogafoss in Iceland ("foss" means waterfall in Icelandic, so "waterfall" shouldn't be added to the name). My friend was nice enough to stand in front of the falls for quite a while, getting soaked in the process, while I was trying to get a shot. As is usually the case in Iceland, the sky was grey and uninteresting so I focused a little tighter on the scene.
The ancient hilltop fortress (known as a "broch") of Dun Carloway on the Isle of Lewis in the Western Hebrides of Scotland. It is about 2,000 years old and is a type of precursor to castles. The walls had staircases and passageways running through them for defensive purposes and it was quite an interesting ruin to explore. It is close to the Callanish standing stones and due to the way it's facing I decided to get some shots of the late afternoon/evening light hitting this side and then I quickly drove to the standing stones for the actual sunset.
