A friend and I were racing against the clock to find a nice subject to photograph with the sunset. We saw this lone tree in a field and liked the way the branch framed the setting sun. We got to it with just enough time to set up and get a few shots before the sun was gone. This was taken in the farmland around St. Francis Xavier, just east of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
I found this patch of daisies beside the road when I was driving to Lake Winnipeg to do some photography. I tried a few standard shots but then I started playing with some camera movement shots. This is a single image, taken while zooming the lens during the exposure. A black and white version of this photo was a runner up in Landscape Photography Magazine's Intentional Camera Movement contest.
This is a little waterfall I saw while driving in the mountains in Japan on my way to Koya-san. It was thin but very tall, and made an excellent black and white image.
