This is a two minute exposure taken at Meoto Iwa (the "wedded rocks") on the Ise peninsula in Mie Prefecture, Japan. There were a lot of photographers staking a spot to catch a photo of the sun rising between the rocks with the rope. I prefer to do my own thing and took some pre-sunrise shots from this spot (but I still ran over to get a shot of the rising sun, even though I wonder what it would have looked like from this angle).
This was shot just after sunset at Island Lake, Manitoba, Canada. I couldn't resist getting a shot of those two near symmetric clouds which still had some purple colouring from the sunset. (The moon was coming up behind me during this shot and there's an abstract image of the light reflecting off the lake in the Abstracts section.)
I had seen this tree (west of Winnipeg, Canada) standing alone in a field a few times while driving by. I decided to go back and try making some images of. It was a really cold day but I persevered and got this composition that I was happy with.
