Late afternoon light hitting Pisew Falls in northern Manitoba, Canada. These are the second highest falls in Manitoba at about 13 metres and are about 30 minutes south of Thompson. The highest falls (14 metres) are at Kwasitchewan Falls, which is a 12 kilometre hike from Pisew Falls. It was a beautiful hike as it was autumn and I saw wild otters for the first time. I'd recommend the hike, but it is very long and you should be prepared to camp overnight at Kwasitchewan Falls. This photo has appeared twice in Canadian Geographic calendars.
A beautiful display of northern lights above an old abandoned house near Beausejour, Canada. I almost didn't go out shooting this night as I had to work the next day, but I'm glad I did. The aurora rarely respect a person's work schedule. (The light coming from the doorway was done by using the self-timer and triggering a handheld flash from inside.)
While driving to the next stop on my Saskatchewan road trip, I saw this field of rolling hills and hay bales. Even though the light wasn't dramatic, I shot a stitched panorama to convey the feeling of sheer space.
