Prior to getting an infrared converted camera I was using a filter that I would screw onto the lens of my regular camera. Doing it this way caused exposures to be about 20 to 30 seconds long. Hence the streaking clouds. It worked out well as they became an important part of the image.
Taken at Boulder Bay on the shore of Lake Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Northeast of Beijing, near the small town of Gubeikou. It is a long hike along the wall to get to this spot from Gubeikou but it is well worth it as you get to see both restored and unrestored portions of the wall. From Gubeikou you can hike east or west and see different sections of the wall. This is the Jinshanling section to the east of Gubeikou. Further along is a much more treacherous and steep section called Simatai, which looked like it would have spectacular views and photo opportunities. Unfortunately it was closed for restoration, so I will have to go back!
