These are the Wilson-Carbide Ruins in Gatineau Park, Quebec. The combination of the ruins and the waterfall in the middle of the forest makes for a magical hike. It has quickly become one of my favourite locations to photograph since my move to Ottawa.
One of the most photographed castles in the world and possibly the most photographed in Scotland. This castle was featured in the first Highlander movie. It was very interesting inside, with the entrance walkway winding around a large boulder and many small spiral staircases and passageways inside. The weather was bad when I first saw it (as is usually the case in Scotland) and I came back the following day for a better shot.
This is Eoligarry beach on the north side of the Isle of Barra in the Western Hebrides of Scotland. I was happy to find a little bit of seaweed with a seashell for the foreground. This is where the flight from Glasgow lands at low tide. Barra is one of my favourite places that I've travelled to. The seafood is great, the beaches are beautiful, the castle is one of the best in Scotland, there are ancient monuments all over the place, and there's a small village feel to the place with very friendly locals.
