A beach on the west side of North Uist. My bed and breakfast owner drove me out here to show off the island. I've wanted a shot like this for a while since I only have lakes around where I live and we don't get ripples like this when the tide goes out. Well, we don't have tides either, except on the really big lakes.
Luckily the rain and grey skies cleared for this excellent sunset at the standing stones of Callanish on the Isle of Lewis, in the Western Hebrides of Scotland. They are older than the pyramids and roughly contemporary with Stonehenge.
I saw this hazy layered scene on the Isle of Lewis in the Western Hebrides of Scotland while driving to the Callanish standing stones for sunset photos.
