Sunset at Hecla Island provincial park in Manitoba, Canada. After the sun had set I tried some long exposures and liked them better than the shots with the sun in the frame. This is a cropped panorama; one of the perks of shooting with a lot of megapixels is that the cropped panoramas are still high resolution.
I've been back to the East side of Lake Winnipeg about seven times now trying to get the shot I'm envisioning of a backlit wave. I still don't have the shot I want, but I was happy with this one as a black and white shot.
This shot was taken after sunset at Sunwapta Falls, on the Icefields highway, from Banff to Jasper, Alberta. There was a bad storm while I was driving along the highway, one of the most nerve racking drives of my life; slippery roads, poor visibility, and any visibility involved catching glimpses of sheer drops from the mountain road. I passed a sign on the road, facing the other direction, when I was nearing Jasper; I looked back and it said the road was closed due to a blizzard!
