I found this old church on a roadtrip near Dauphin, Manitoba, Canada. Although I didn't get nice golden light due to clouds, I waited a little while and got some nice cloud colours just after sunset.
Reflections of the northern lights over Lake Winnipeg in Manitoba, Canada. The big dipper can be seen near the upper right side. Funny story: There was a strange wailing/barking sound directed at me while I was there. It was pitch black and I thought it might be someone's dog and hoped I wouldn't get attacked. I could tell it was on the beach with me. Then it did it again and it was so strange I thought "that can't be a dog, what the heck is it?" I could see a pair of eyes in the flashlight beam but that was it. After the next wailing noise I checked again and found that it was a red tailed fox! It went about its business and was probably just used to having the beach to himself.
A friend and I were racing against the clock to find a nice subject to photograph with the sunset. We saw this lone tree in a field and liked the way the branch framed the setting sun. We got to it with just enough time to set up and get a few shots before the sun was gone. This was taken in the farmland around St. Francis Xavier, just east of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
