The "church on the hill" from my grandmother's village, now only an island because of the Orava dam
When they built Orava Dam the only part of Slanica (where my grandmother was born) that survived was the church on a hill, now an island. I found some of my ancestors buried here.

The little island there is all that is left of my grandmother's village, it still has a church on it, which was the church on the hill when the village was still there, the picture is taken from the town of Namestovo (near the border with Poland)
