Sites

This was hard to narrow down but I figured I should share what some of my favourite things were that I saw. None of my favourite castles are in here because they already have their own folder. I should also mention that these are my favourite sites of this trip and are not necessarily representative of all of my favourite sites. For instance, my favourite place in the world is still the french quarter of New Orleans but you won't find it in this folder.

Asuka tombs
Just a short drive south of Nara, there is an area full of old tombs that you can tour around, from around the year 600 when the area was the capital of Japan. Some still had their paintings intact and the museums are really interesting.
Un
One of the pair of guardians at Todaiji temple in Nara, Japan. Ah and Un are their names and Ah always has its mouth open while Un has its mouth closed. These sculptures are amazing and are one of my favourite sites in Japan. Many people go for the giant temple behind them and one of the world's largest Buddha statues inside, but these are my favourite part of the temple. And they're huge, about 4 meters tall.
