Madagascar
I was in Madagascar for a month. If you want an undiscovered destination this is it! There aren't many tourists here and it's a great place to visit. The wildlife is phenomenal, it gives Costa Rica a run for its money. 85% of the plants and animals here are endemic, meaning you can't find them anywhere else. And they have lemurs! If you like tropical beaches you can find them here and have them all to yourself. Make sure to see the baobob trees; continental Africa has one species while Madagascar has seven! The people here are very warm and friendly and when you're not in the capital city almost everyone will say hi while you're walking down the street. And the food is super cheap. My main reason for initially picking Madagascar was because it used to be a haven for pirates, particularly St. Marie Island, and I enjoy history so I wanted to go to the actual places that I'd read about. Just a few years ago a shipwreck hunted came here and found the wreck of one of Captain Kidd's ships. So overall Madagascar was a real adventure in a world where there aren't that many left.
